NEIGHBOURHOOD

The Future of SFU

The idea of creating a complete university community dates to the early 1960s, when architects Arthur Erickson and Geoffrey Massey designed SFU’s original buildings and set into motion a vision for the future of the university’s lands.

Today, we look forward to SFU Burnaby 2065, a new plan that will modernize an architectural heritage with more sustainability, connectivity, convenience, housing and movement. Creativity and diversity will be accentuated to attract bright minds to this mountaintop sanctuary. A gondola is anticipated to complement the road network, giving residents, students and professionals a direct link to the Metro Vancouver Skytrain system. All this will be paired with environmental protections and mindful forest expansion.
